WE HAVE A HISTORY OF GIVING BACK.
Wilkus Architects is a member of the One Plus Organization by Public Architecture, meaning we designate at least 1% of our firm's time to pro bono work every year.
Here are some examples of our work:
BLUEWATER COVENANT BIBLE CAMP
Located on Bluewater Lake just north of Grand Rapids lives Bluewater Covenant Bible Camp. Several renovation, new construction and master planning projects have been underway for 10+ years by Chadwick and Penny Persons.
The Persons' were motivated to expand the camp's mission, cultivate their program offerings and upgrade their facilities to better serve the 1,750 campers that visit every year. The Wilkus family and the firm was eager to help them realize their vision and turn it into a reality.
BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA
Wilkus Architects had the opportunity to help Boy Scouts of America create their new multi-purpose facility at Stearns Scout Camp, located in South Haven, Minnesota. The facility, Tonkawa Lodge, is a two-level, 8,000-square-foot building, with an exterior inspired by the old Tonkawa Lodge. The lodge sits atop a hill, looking down over a large activity field and forest.
Schematic Design, Architectural and Structural drawings, bid meetings, Construction Administration (including shop drawing review and site observation) were services provided by Wilkus Architects to help make this new facility possible.

LIFT KIDS
Lift Kids' mission is to "support leaders to develop sustainable villages." They work with U.S. immigrant leaders to develop plans to make these village communities, collaborating with organizations and experts to build models that can be replicated around the world.
Wilkus Architects had the pleasure of working with Lift Kids on plans for schools and clinics in countries including Ethiopia, Uganda, Laos and Somalia.
We created plans, provided initial renderings, and guided them through the process of developing a business plan so they could raise financial support to make these projects a reality.
